Record 16,233MW electricity produced in Bangladesh

Bangladesh hit a milestone in its energy production history at 9pm on Monday, reaching a record high of 16,233 megawatts (MW) of electricity.

The Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Mir Mohammad Aslam Uddin confirmed the information in a press release.

The notification highlighted the ongoing severe heatwave across the country. The power sector is diligently working to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to uphold public welfare.

It's worth noting that the previous record stood at 15,666MW, recorded on Sunday.
