A garment factory was gutted in a fire in Rajfulbaria area of Savar on Thursday.
No casualties were reported. The factory was closed due to Eid-ul-Fitr.
The fire broke out at Wax Fashion around 12 noon. Upon receiving information, four units from Savar rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control around 3pm.
Nurul Islam, senior station officer of Savar fire service, said that the fire originated from a transmitter blast. Due to the fire, all furniture and equipment of the factory were burned to ashes.
