A Bandarban court on Thursday sent to jail three people arrested for their alleged involvement with separatist group Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF), which has carried out bank robberies and snatched arms from the police recently.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Nazmul Hossain gave the order after the trio were produced before the court, Additional Police Superintendent Md Raihan Kazemi confirmed to Dhaka Tribune.
The arrestees are Bhan Lal Thang Bom, 45, Bhan Nuam Thang Bom, 37, and Lal Rin Tolowang Bom, 20. They all hail from Eden Para in Ruma, the birthplace of KNF President Nathan Bom.
So far, 58 people, including the chief coordinator of the group, have been arrested by the joint forces. They were later sent to jail in the eight cases filed over the incidents of April 2-5 in Ruma and Thanchi upazilas.
