The Dhaka University unit of the Bangladesh Chhatra League has announced its full committee after 14 months on Monday.
The committee, comprising 279 members, was announced in a circular signed by Chhatra League Central President Saddam Hussain, General Secretary Sheikh Wali Ashif Inan, DU Chhatra League President Mazharul Kabir Shayon and General Secretary Tanbir Hasan Shaikat.
Earlier, on December 20, 2022, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader announced the incomplete committee of Dhaka University along with the central committee from Ganabhaban.
The newly announced committee includes 61 members appointed as vice presidents, 11 as joint general secretaries, 11 as organizing secretaries, and 36 members assigned to various other secretary positions.
Also, 137 individuals were appointed as deputy secretaries, 10 members got the position of co-secretaries, and 11 individuals secured the role of members.
However, according to the constitution of Bangladesh Chhatra League, the university unit (considered equivalent to the district committee) is supposed to have 151 members.
There is a provision in the constitution to have a maximum of 21 vice presidents in the district committee. According to the Chhatra League’s constitution, 61 vice presidents can be in the 301-member central committee.
