Admission to govt medical colleges starts Sunday

The admission procedure to the country’s government medical colleges will start on Sunday.

A circular signed by Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME) Director (Medical Education) Prof Dr Md Mohiuddin Matubbar informs this on Monday. 

According to the notification, the admission procedure for the academic year 2023–24 in the government medical colleges will continue till February 24. 

The circular for the online application for admission to private medical colleges will be published on Wednesday. 

The results of the admission test for the MBBS at Bangladesh’s government and private medical colleges for 2023-24 academic session were published on Sunday.

A total of 49,923 students cleared the medical entry test this year. Of them, 20,457 are males and 29,466 are females.

Tanjim Muntaka Sarba secured the top position with 92.5 marks. 

A total of 104,374 students filled up forms for the medical test and of them, 102,369 appeared for the examinations in 44 venues of 19 examination centres of the country for one hour from 10am to 11am. About 98% of applicants attended the admission test.
