Thousands of people have flocked to Kuakata to spend quality time with their families.
Despite the harsh winter, tourists are visiting the 18km long beach and sightseeing spots there. Many people are enjoying themselves by floating in the saltwater of the sea.
Most of the rooms of the hotels and motels are already booked. Sales have increased in tourism-related businesses.
Habibur Rahman Rana, a tourist from Dhaka, said: "Enjoying both sunrise and sunset standing at the same place only in Kuakata is very soothing"
Rubel, the manager of Kuakata's residential hotel Sea Palace, said: "Due to the political unrest, we did not have many tourists this year. But now our hotel rooms are booked for the weekend. There are many tourists in other hotels too.”
Abdus Sobhan, a bench trader on the beach, said: "More tourists have arrived this year. In this way, we can overcome the financial loss.”
Rimon, a tourist from Dhaka, said: “Tourists will increase more when the winter subsides.”
Kuakata Hotel-Motel Owners Association General Secretary Motaleb Sharif said: "This year there has been a good number of tourists. Most of the hotels have room booking.”
Hasnain Parvez, Inspector of Tourist Police Kuakata Zone, said: “We are always strengthening security at various spots in Kuakata.”
