Lowest temperature recorded at 9.5˚C in Rajshahi division

The lowest temperature was recorded at 9.5˚C in three places of Rajshahi division on Sunday morning.

The mild cold wave is sweeping over the country, especially the districts of Kisoregonj, Rajshahi, Pabna, Naogaon, Panchagarh and Kurigram, causing immense suffering to people.

The country's lowest minimum temperature of 9.5°C was recorded in Rajshahi, Ishwardi of Pabna, and Badalgachhi of Naogaon in the morning.

The weather may remain mainly dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.

Moderate to thick fog may occur over the country from midnight to morning and it may continue till noon at places, according to a release issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Sunday morning.

Night temperature may fall slightly over the North-Northeastern part and it may rise slightly elsewhere over the country.

Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Meanwhile, primary and secondary schools in the northern district of Rajshahi have been declared closed due to severe cold.

This announcement was made separately from the concerned department on Saturday as the local meteorological department predicted that the district would experience less than 10°C temperature on Sunday and Monday.

According to sources, all the secondary educational institutions of Rajshahi have been declared closed on Sunday and Monday.

 The primary schools will remain closed only on Sunday.
