Gazipur-4: Krishak League leader Alam Ahmed regains candidacy

The High Court on Monday stayed the Election Commission's order canceling Krishak League advisor,Alam Ahmed's candidacy in Gazipur-4 Constituency on charges of being a loan defaulter.

The court ordered to accept the nomination papers and the allotment of symbols for Alam Ahmed,  nephew of Tajuddin Ahmed, the first Prime Minister of the country.
The Chamber Judge of Appellate Division Justice M Enayetur Rahim suspended the order of the High Court and gave this order on Tuesday.

Gazipur Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Returning Officer Abul Fate Mohammad Safiqul Islam canceled his nomination papers as a defaulter during the selection process.

The High Court upheld the Election Commission's decision to cancel the candidature of Alam Ahmed On Monday.
Later, an appeal was filed against this order in the Appellate Division.

Apart from Alam Ahmed, there are six other contenders for this seat, including Awami League candidate and current member of Parliament Simin Hossain Rimi, Tajuddin Ahmed's daughter.
