Crude bomb blasted at Dhaka court premises

A group of miscreants exploded a crude bomb at the premises of Dhaka court in the capital’s Old Dhaka on Monday.

The explosion happened in the court premises around 4pm after the bail hearing of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

Additional Public Prosecutor Tapos Kumar Pal, representing the state, confirmed the matter, saying: "At around 4pm, there was a loud sound of crude bomb explosion in front of the Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court building."

Eyewitness lawyers said that suddenly there was a loud noise near the court's waiting room. Many people ran in fear at that time.

Now the situation has calmed down.
