A total of 181 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed across the country including Dhaka on the first day of the fifth phase of the blockade called by BNP-Jamaat to ensure the safety of readymade garment factories.
A large number of BGB members have been deployed at various important locations in the capital since Wednesday morning.
BGB’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) Shariful Islam confirmed the information.
He said: “33 platoons of BGB have been deployed in Dhaka and surrounding districts to strengthen the security of garment factories. Apart from this, 181 platoons of BGB are deployed across the country to control the law and order situation.”
Earlier, 189 platoons of BGB were deployed across the country to control the law and order situation on Monday during the fourth phase of the blockade called by BNP and like-minded parties.
