CES, ULAB and Future Startup organized webinar on future of agritech in Bangladesh

The Centre for Enterprise and Society (CES) and Future Startup recently organized a webinar titled ‘The Future of AgriTech in Bangladesh’ with Tasvir Ahmed Faheem, Founder & CEO, InsureCow and Sakib Hossain, Founder and CEO, Fashol, as the guest speakers on Saturday.

Ruhul Kader, Editor, Future Startup moderated the webinar. 

The webinar included a keynote presentation on the AgriTech industry based on an upcoming CES whitepaper authored by Ruhul Kader.

It also included a live discussion between Tasvir Ahmed Faheem, Sakb Hossain and Ruhul Kader. 

Tasvir discussed how technologies like IoT can be used for precision agriculture and packaging with finance and insurance, he also discussed the possibilities and barriers in insurance. 

Sakib Hossain spoke about the challenges, dynamics and opportunities in the supply chain of agriculture products.
Moreover, the discussion highlighted the initiatives that could be taken to create an innovation cluster around agritech and strategies for bringing more builders to the sector. Additionally, general lessons in building agritech business in Bangladesh were also shared.

Key speaker profiles

Tasvir Ahmed Faheem is currently the Founder & CEO of InsureCow. Tasvir was previously the Chief Executive Officer of Inflexionpoint Technologies (BD) Ltd and prior to that, he was the Managing Director of SiS Inflexionpoint (BD) Ltd.

Sakib Hossain is currently the Founder & CEO of Fashol. He is also the founder of Uzzol.com which is the first printing marketplace in Bangladesh.

Ruhul Kader is the Editor of Future Startup. He has published several articles featured in platforms like The Dhaka Tribune and The Financial Express. Ruhul Kader presented the keynote presentation.
