Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has issued a directive urging party leaders and activists nationwide to protect Hindu places of worship and residences during Durga Puja.
Quader made this announcement following a meeting with the leaders of the Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad on Friday morning.
The recent incidents of violence in Comilla have raised concerns within the party. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed her deep concern about the situation. The matter is currently under investigation by a dedicated team, and Quader emphasized that disciplinary action will be taken against anyone found guilty of misconduct.
When asked about the BNP's rally on October 28, Quader said it will be a repeat of their December 10 program.
