Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (Bajus) has raised the gold price again.
The information was disclosed in a press release signed by MA Hannan Azad, chairman of the Bajus price fixing and price monitoring standing committee, on Sunday.
The price of good quality (22 carat) gold has been increased by Tk1,166. As a result, the new price of gold in this category will be Tk1,00,543 per bhori. For the last one week, the price of gold of this quality was Tk99,377.
In the notification, it said that the price of acidic gold has increased in the local market. Considering the overall situation, Bangladesh Jewellers Samity has fixed the new price of gold. It will be implemented from Monday.
Earlier, Bajus fixed the price of gold four days ago on October 11 which became effective from October 12.
Earlier, gold was sold for Tk1,00,777 in July. Later, the price of gold decreased.
According to the new price, the price of best quality gold or 22 carat per bhori (11.664 grams) will be Tk1,00,543. The price of 21 carat solid gold is Tk95,994, 18 carat is Tk82,231 and traditional method gold price will be Tk68,584.
The price of gold has been increased but the price of silver has been kept unchanged.
According to the category, currently the price of 22 carat silver (heavy) is Tk1,715, 21 carat price is Tk1,633, 18 carat price is Tk1,400 and traditional method silver price is Tk1,050.
