Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) has partnered with Relief Validation Limited Certifying Authority (RVLCA), one of the certifying authorities in Bangladesh, to facilitate the issuance of digital certificates.
This agreement allows Sust students to apply for and obtain academic certificates online.
During the signing of the agreement at the university's administrative building on Tuesday, Vice-Chancellor Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed emphasized the benefits of digital certificates.
He noted that digital certificates are not only secure but also allow for easy verification of signatures, eliminating doubts about the validity of certificates issued by the university. The use of digital signature technology is globally recognized and legally binding.
The VC added that digital certificates obtained through this system will be immediately verifiable by universities, visa issuing embassies, and other relevant authorities. This initiative by Sust, as the first public university in Bangladesh to adopt this technology, aligns with the vision of "Smart Bangladesh 2041" and contributes to digitization efforts.
Under this new system, students from the 2017-18 session and subsequent sessions at Sust will have the convenience of applying for and receiving their certificates online. Each certificate will have a digitally unique identity, simplifying the verification process and helping to prevent the use of fake certificates.
