Seven Bangladeshi men disguised as monks arrested in Thailand

Police on Saturday arrested seven Bangladeshi men disguised as Buddhist monks in an attempt to avoid detection by Thai Immigration authorities.

They were arrested in Songkhla province while they were headed to Malaysia.

The seven Bangladeshi nationals have been charged for illegally entering the country, reports The Pattaya News.

Police said the men had shaved their heads and dressed in monk robes in an order to blend in.

Among them, a 46-year-old man, identified only as Rupdah, confessed to being the leader of the group.

Upon investigation, authorities also found that the group had entered Thailand via Mae Sot District. Their ultimate destination was Malaysia.
