The fire that broke out at the Krishi Market in the capital’s Mohammadpur area is still not fully extinguished even after 17 hours.
There was still fire at the market’s Block C, and smoke was seen coming out of several shops at 8:14pm, firefighters have said.
Meanwhile, other nearby markets around the area have been shut due to the incident,
The fire broke out at the market around 3:43am and spread soon.
Seventeen firefighting units worked to fully douse the blaze at around 9:25am.
Wasa, Bangladesh Air Force, Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Border Guard Bangladesh and Bangladesh Police assisted in bringing the fire under control.
