Bangladesh National Cricket Team Captain Shakib Al Hasan went to the parliament on Monday evening amid the ongoing Asia Cup.
Shakib entered the parliament at around 6:30pm.
First, he held a meeting with Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President and Member of Parliament Nazmul Hassan Papon in the parliament lobby for about 15 minutes.
Later, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief entered a parliament session and Shakib went towards the prime minister's lobby. As Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was not present at that time, Shakib was seen waiting there alone.
Around 7:30pm, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made her entrance into the parliament building. Roughly 20 minutes later, Shakib Al Hasan departed from the prime minister's lobby.
However, it is not known what they discussed.
Several sources said Shakib Al Hasan is seeking an Awami League party ticket to participate in the upcoming national parliament election.
Shakib Al Hasan has returned to the country during the ongoing Asia Cup.
The motive behind his visit could not be known.
