A light earthquake struck several parts of Bangladesh on Saturday afternoon.
An earthquake of 4.4 magnitude was felt at 4:18pm in several areas in Sylhet.
The tremor was felt in Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar as well.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said that the epicentre of the quake was traced to Assam's Cachar, India, situated 263km north-northeast from the BMD Seismic Centre in Dhaka.
No injuries or damages have been reported so far.
The last earthquake in Bangladesh was recorded on August 14 at 8:51pm. Tremors were felt in various regions of the country including Dhaka.
Its magnitude was 5.5 on the Richter scale.
