A young man was stabbed to death and at least five others were injured during a clash between two groups in Dhaka's Gulistan on Friday.
However, the identities of the groups could not be confirmed yet.
The deceased, age around 25, could not be identified yet.
The injured are Md Ariful, 18, Md Zubayer, 18, Md Roni, 32 and Md Mubashwer, 18.
The victims were were reportedly returning home after taking part in the ruling Awami League's peace rally.
The clash took place near Golap Shah Mazar in the evening, said Md Bacchu Miah, in-charge of DMCH police camp.
He said: "We initially received the information that two groups clashed in Gulistan after evening. The body of one person was brought to DMCH from there. In addition, five people were brought injured.”
"What is the political identity of these two groups, we cannot say at the moment", added the police official.
Doctor Md Alauddin of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital's emergency unit confirmed the matter.
