Health Minister Zahid Maleque on Saturday said most of the dengue patients in Bangladesh are getting infected from their workplaces.
“Today we talked to the patients of different hospitals and found out that they were infected from the workplaces. Besides, the patients say that the city corporations are not spreading sprays to kill mosquitos in different areas, lanes as per demand, which needs to be increased. Besides, mosquito spray is not being done in various offices and mill factories, due to which the number of dengue patients is increasing,” said Zahid Maleque.
The minister said these things to the journalists after visiting Mugda Medical College Hospital in the capital on Saturday.
He also said that most of the dengue patients this year are between 20 and 40 years old.

“I will tell those who are in charge of all this to take adequate measures in this regard. It is not possible for the city corporation to go and spray your home or office. So we have to be aware of this,” said the minister.
