The supporters of BNP locked into a clash with the leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League in Mirpur Bangla College in the capital on Tuesday morning.
The clash started around 11:30am when BNP supporters reached in front of Mirpur Bangla College as part of their march program.
Dhaka TribuneChases and counter chases between the two sides took place on the college premises. A motorcycle and a bicycle were torched during the clash.
BNP leaders alleged that the followers of the Chhatra League of Bangla College hurled brick chips at their procession and attacked the party's peaceful road march when it reached near the college.
Dhaka TribuneMeanwhile, the Chhatra League activists claimed that the BNP supporters suddenly carried out an attack in the college.
Dozens of students were injured in the clash, they added.
On information, law enforcers rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control around 12:30pm.
The clash took place due to the instigation of both sides. However, no one has been arrested so far, said Aminul Bashar, officer-in-charge (OC) of Darussalam police station.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is participating in the protest held in the capital on Tuesday morning.
The march will take place at various points in the city from morning till afternoon, starting from Gabtali and concluding at the Raisaheb Bazar intersection at 4pm.
