The number of unemployed people in Bangladesh came down by 3.47% in the April-June quarter compared to the previous quarter this year, according to data of the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).
Now Bangladesh has 2.5 million unemployed people. The country had 2.59 million unemployed people as of the January-March quarter of 2023.
The number of jobless people has decreased by 90,000 in a span of three months.
Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) on Sunday released the latest Quarterly Labour Force Survey 2023 report for April-June period.
Moreover, the April-June quarter's number is also 2.34% lower than the same period of the previous year's 2.56 million, according to the second quarterly Labour Force Survey 2023 of BBS.
The number of unemployed men decreased by 2.34% to 1.67million in the April-June quarter of 2023 compared to the previous three months.
At the same time, the number of unemployed females decreased by 5.68% to 830,000.
