Bangladeshi woman sets coin stacking world record

Nusrat Jahan Nipa, a 30-year-old woman from Barisal, has inscribed her name in the Guinness Book of World Records by stacking 71 coins in only one minute.

On December 21, She broke the seven-year-old record held by Silvio Sabba of Italy, who stacked 69 coins in a minute in 2015.

Nipa was able to build a tower 10.1cm tall using only one hand and Bangladeshi Tk1 coins, setting a new world record.

She said: “During the lockdowns, I wanted to invest my time into a productive activity, rather than sitting idle at home. I came across these games on the Guinness World Records page and became intrigued by them.

“I practiced the ‘Most coins stacked into a tower’ category for two years before I submitted my video to Guinness World Records on September 24,” she added.

Nipa, who is a housewife, says she has developed a newfound interest in setting new world records. “I want to set a new record for the 'most coins balanced upright in a minute’ category next.”

She further encouraged people by saying that these activities will make anyone feel motivated to move forward and conquer the world.

Nipa’s father has expressed great pride in Nipa’s success, and hopes his daughter will move forward with a strong sense of determination.
