A couple was killed when a train hit them in Gopalpur upazila of Tangail.
The accident took place on Thursday afternoon in the Mohail village of the upazila's Jhawail union.
The deceased have been identified as Md Arju, 50, and his wife, Sampa Begum, 45, from the Rajgolabari village in the upazila.
Jhawail Union Parishad Chairman Mizanur Rahman said the couple was returning home after performing a religious program at a dargah named Jugirgopa in Mohail village.
While crossing a railway bridge, they were hit by a train heading towards Bhuapur from Chittagong, leaving the duo dead on the spot.
Upon receiving the news, their family members arrived and took their bodies away.
