A Sylhet court has sent to jail the driver of a pickup van that collided with a truck in Sylhet's Dakshin Surma upazila earlier this month, which resulted in the death of 15 construction workers.
This came after Abdur Rahim, 30, surrendered before Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Saifur Rahman's court on Tuesday, Dakshin Surma police station OC Md Shamsuddoha said.
The police officer added that the court had also rejected his bail prayer.
The truck driver was arrested on June 10.
The pickup carrying around 30 workers collided with the truck on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in the early hours of June 7.
Eleven of them died on the spot while another four died while receiving treatment at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
