The prices of home appliances including refrigerator, washing machine, microwave oven, among others, would not go up as suggested in the 2023-2024 fiscal year.
The finance minister read out the proposals for the 2023-2024 fiscal year's budget, amounting to Tk7,61,785 crore, in parliament on Thursday.
The other appliances include -- blenders, juicers, mixers, grinders, electric kettles, rice cookers, multi cookers and pressure cookers.
The finance minister proposed this in order to attract domestic and foreign investment, create employment, produce import substitute products and maintain the ongoing dynamics of domestic industrial development.
