Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal on Thursday said that the government has prepared a budget for the 2023-24 fiscal year by considering the betterment of everyone in Bangladesh.
He said this while talking to the reporters at his residence in Gulshan in the capital on Thursday morning.
The minister said: “We have progressed towards our target. I think we will achieve that this time as well. We will not be cheated, we will not be defeated…..we will not cheat the people of this country and they will not lose.
“Every time when I have discussed the budget, I have said one thing, win-win situation; I was also a poor child. I was once poor. I know how hard it is to be poor. So we don't want to achieve anything here by depriving anyone. we have made the budget for everyone,” he said.
While responding to a question, whether the goal and the target with which he became the finance minister, have achieved?, he responded: “I am satisfied and grateful to Allah. I think you will also agree with me.”
The Cabinet meeting approved the proposed budget for the 2023-24 fiscal year.
