Experts stress health awareness for coastal communities

Experts have emphasized the urgent need for prioritizing the healthcare development of coastal communities residing in the southwest coastal areas. 

They made the call while addressing an exchange meeting with journalists at Shyamnagar Friendship Hospital in Satkhira on Wednesday.

In the chief guest's speech, Friendship Deputy Director Tanzina Sharmin said that climate change has negatively impacted the coastal public health of the southwest region.

She hopes that media professionals would work together to solve these issues and enhance Friendship's activities to encourage growth in the sub-districts.

Satkhira Press Club President Mamtaz Ahmed Bapi applauded the program for public welfare in the exchange meeting.

Friendship Hospital Shyamnagar Director Lt Col (retd) Md Mujahidul Haq highlighted the health information of the saline-affected areas in the southwest.

Prothom Alo Prominent Journalist and Staff Reporter Kalyan Banerjee, Friendship  Regional Coordinator AKM Sakhawat Hossain, and Shyamnagar Press Club President Akbar Kabir also spoke at the event. 

Local journalists including Friendship PR Manager Zilful Murad Shanu, Friendship Hospital Coordinator Shaheen Ahmed, Friendship Brand Manager Mir Afrad Aqib, Senior Graphics Designer Ayan Das were also present.
