A central team has been constituted of nine people to support the Awami League candidate in the Barisal City Corporation (BCC) elections.
Abul Khair Abdullah is the candidate for mayor under boat symbol in the election, according to a document signed by Awami League's Barisal division Organizational Secretary (in Charge) Afzal Hossai on Wednesday.
The BCC election will be held on June 12.
Awami League's Central Executive Parliament Member Abul Hasanat Abdullah has been made the Awami League central team head.
Awami League Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nashim was made team coordinator while its Organizing Secretary Afzal Hossain made the joint coordinator.
Apart from this, Awami League presidium members Jahangir Kabir Nanak and International Affairs Secretary Dr Abdur Rahman, Industry and Commerce Secretary Siddiqur Rahman, Central Executive member Anisur Rahman and Md Golam Kabir Rabbani Chinu were made members of the central team.
Earlier on April 24, Awami League formed a central coordination team of 28 members ahead of the Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) elections.
Awami League Organizing Secretary Mirza Azam was made team coordinator and Gazipur District Awami League President AKM Mozammel Haque was made the advisor.
Gazipur City Elections will be held on May 25.
