Bangladesh ranks 182nd in Nomad Passport Ranking Index

Bangladesh has ranked 182nd in the Nomad Passport Ranking Index 2023, recently released by Nomad Capitalist.

The ranking of the passports based on aspects including travel, taxation, dual citizenship, perception and freedom was based on publicly accessible data and news sources.

The Bangladesh passport scored 37.5 on the index. In comparison, the most powerful passport according to the ranking, the United Arab Emirates passport, got a total score of 110.5. 

Bangladesh was 178th but scored 33 in last year's index.

“... we assigned the United Arab Emirates a Travel score of 181 as there are 116 countries that United Arab Emirates passport holders can enter without a visa (ie visa-free countries), 58 countries that allow United Arab Emirates passport holders to enter by obtaining a visa on arrival (ie visa-on-arrival countries) and seven electronic travel authorization (eTA) destinations,” the report said. 

Among other South Asian countries, Bhutan ranked 140th, India 159th, Maldives 105th, Nepal 179th, Pakistan 195th, Sri Lanka 170th and Afghanistan 199th, which is also the lowest position on the index.

The top passports are UAE, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Ireland, Portugal, Germany, Czech Republic, New Zealand, Sweden and Finland.
