Another Russian flag carrier vessel named “MV Anka Sun” arrived at Bagerhat's Mongla sea port with shipment of machinery products of the under-construction Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP).
The ship anchored at Jetty No-8 of the port around 12pm on Saturday.
According to the Mongla Port Authority, the ship has brought 1,627,904 metric tons of nuclear power plant products.
The local shipping agent of “MV Anka Sun” ship, Sadhan Kumar Chakraborty, said: “The ship left Novorossiysk port in Russia with goods on April 3 and arrived in the afternoon.
These products will be unloaded within 24 hours and delivered to the Rooppur power plant authority by road.”
This month, two more ships with machinery products of RNPP will arrive at the port, he added.
On April 25, Russian flag carrier vessel “MV Yamal Orlan” arrived at Bagerhat's Mongla sea port with another shipment of machinery products of the under-construction Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP).
Mongla Port Authority Chairman Rear Admiral Mir Ershad Ali said: "The products of almost all ongoing mega projects of the country including Rooppur Power Plant are being cleared through this port. Padma Bridge products are also cleared through this port. Local and foreign businessmen are interested in using this port as these products are cleared quickly with skilled manpower in modern methods.”
