Teenage boy hit, killed by train at Dhaka’s Karwan Bazar

An unidentified teenager has died after coming under a moving train at the Karwan Bazar level crossing in Dhaka.

"The boy, 17, was trying to cross the railway line in a hurry as the Mymensingh-bound Haor Express was running on the track at around 10.30pm on Thursday. He was hit by the train and crushed under it. He died on the spot," Assistant Sub-Inspector Navera Nasrin of Kamalapur railway police station said.

Police said the body of the boy, who was in a navy blue pant and a sky blue shirt at the time of the accident, was barely recognizable. His body was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

An unnatural death case was filed in this connection.
