The number of motorcycle accidents in Bangladesh has decreased by over 50% in April compared to March.
The number of motorcycle accidents this month is 55.53% lower than in March.
This information was revealed in a report by Save the Road on Sunday.
The report is based on information provided by 22 national news outlets, 20 television channels, 88 local news portals, and local witnesses.
According to the report, from April 1 to Sunday, (April 30) a total of 431 motorcycle accidents occurred, injuring 435 people and resulting in the deaths of 34.
A total of 2,506 accidents took place this month, and in those accidents, 2,527 people have been injured, while 451 people have died.
Some 645 truck accidents took place, resulting in 368 injuries and 43 deaths.
Meanwhile, 808 buses have been involved in accidents, resulting in the injury of 943 individuals and the death of 282, due to drivers ignoring speed limits, failing to take breaks, and violating various driving rules.
According to Save the Road, motorcycle accidents decreased slightly in March due to various programs, but 906 people were injured and 88 people were killed in 984 motorcycle accidents.
