"Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country", said the weather forecast valid for next 24 hours from 9am on Wednesday.
Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Faridpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Jessore, Chuadanga and Kushtia and it may spread, it said.
Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Trough of westerly low lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas as seasonal low lies over South Bay.
Country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 37 °C at Chuadanga while minimum temperature on Wednesday was 18.8 °C at Rajarhat.
Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am was recorded 78 millimeters (mm) at Sylhet.
The sun sets at 6:16pm on Wednesday and rises at 5:46am on Thursday in the capital.
