Eight Bangladeshi pilgrims killed when a bus carrying them and others heading to Makkah burst into flames after a collision on a bridge on Monday have been identified.
The eight were Shahidul Islam and Md Helal from Noakhali, Mamun Mia and Russel Mollah from Comilla, Sabuj Hossain from Lakhsmipur, Md Asif from Cox's Bazar, Md Imam Hossain from Gazipur, and Ruku Mia from Chandpur.
According to foreign ministry sources, 18 Bangladeshis are in hospital and another nine have yet to be found.
There were 47 passengers on the bus and it is presumed that 35 of them were Bangladeshis.
At least 12 more were also killed and 29 others were injured in the accident when the bus overturned following a brake failure on a road linking Asir province and the city of Abha, with media reports putting the death toll at 22.
The death toll may increase, Al Arabiya said referring to its sources.
