11C robbery: 2 more accused give confessional statements

Two more accused, arrested over their involvement in the robbery of Tk11.25 crore of a bank from a private security agency's vehicle in Dhaka's Uttara, have confessed to their involvement in the crime.

The accused -- Hridoy and Milon -- gave the confessional statements after police produced them before a Dhaka court on Saturday.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Syed Mostafa Reza Noor recorded their statements. 

The magistrate later ordered Hridoy and Milon to be sent to prison.

With this, nine people have confessed to being involved in the robbery. 

Meanwhile, one arrestee, Sohail Rana Shishir was produced in the court on Saturday, and police sought a 10-day remand for investigation.

After the hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Syed Mostafa Reza Noor granted a five-day remand for the accused. 

On March 9, robbers looted cash worth Tk11.25 crore from a vehicle of Money Plant Ltd while it was going to refill money at the ATM of Dutch Bangla Bank in Savar, in Turag area of Dhaka's Uttara.

So far, 11 people have been arrested and Tk7.1 crore has been recovered, reports UNB.
