The government has decided to set office hours during the month of Ramadan from 9am to 3:30pm, for all government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions.
The decision was taken at a regular cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Prime Minister's Office on Monday.
After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain briefed the journalists on this matter.
He said that banks, insurance, courts and private institutions will determine the office schedule according to their own convenience.
The holy month of Ramadan is expected to begin on March 24.
