Cylinder explodes in Natore shop, van driver dies trying to put it out

A van driver died while trying to put out a fire at a shop in Kumgram Bazar of Singra upazila in Natore Wednesday night. Three more people sustained burns in the incident.

Local UP Chairman Ariful Islam Arif said that a fire broke out in the locked shop of Habibubur Rahman in Kumgram Bazar around 10:30pm. At that time, the gas cylinder inside the shop exploded.

In no time, the fire spread to the shops around the market. A van driver died while fighting the fire with the locals. Three more people were burnt, he added.

Singra police station Officer-in-charge (OC) Mizanur Rahman said that the three burnt people have been admitted to Singra Upazila Health Complex.
