President-elect Mohammed Shahabuddin has resigned from the board of directors of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd (IBBL), a top official of the bank said on Tuesday.
IBBL Managing Director Muhammad Munirul Mawla said Shahabuddin resigned from the bank on Sunday after the ruling Awami League nominated him for the post of president.
On behalf of JMC Builders, Chittagong, he was appointed as director of the bank in June 2017 and was subsequently appointed as vice chairman.
Shahabuddin's name and picture were removed from Islami Bank's website on Monday.
