Dhaka Commerce College sees 99.75% pass rate in HSC

Dhaka Commerce College, which specializes in commerce, achieved a pass rate of 99.75% in the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination 2022. 

Analysis of the results shows that the number of students appearing in the examination was 2,802, and a total of 2,795 of them passed the exam with flying colors, said a press release. 

The total number of students who have achieved GPA-5 from both the Business Studies group and Science group is 1,720. 

At the time of the students' admissions to the college, only 283 from both groups had GPA-5 in their SSC examination, hence 1,437 more students have succeeded to improve their results in the HSC examination from Dhaka Commerce College, reads the press release. 

A total of 1,274 students out of 1,275 from Business Studies group passed the examination, and 561 of them achieved GPA-5, yielding a pass rate of 99.92%. 

However, only 42 students had GPA-5 at the time of their admission to this college. 

The intensive care of the college has helped particularly 519 students achieve GPA-5 from this group ensuring     100% improvement, reads the press release.

From the Science group, which started running in 2019, a total of 1,527 students appeared at the HSC examination, and 1,521 students passed. 

Of them, 1,159 students have received GPA-5. The pass rate of this group stands at 99.61%. 

However, when they got into this college, only 241 students had GPA-5 from their SSC examination. The intensive care from Dhaka Commerce College has constantly been active behind 918 students' glorious achievements.

The average HSC pass rate from Dhaka Commerce College from 1991 to 2002 is 99.41%.

And within the span of 17 years from 2003 up to 2019, in the GPA system, the average pass rate stands at 99.68%.

Professor Dr Md Abu Masud, the principal of Dhaka Commerce College, said: “Our successive achievement has been possible through emphasizing intellectual exercises.” 

He added: “We are particularly concerned with preparing enlightened individuals who can achieve coveted opportunities of higher education at the country's best universities as well as entrance into enriched careers. After its establishment in 1989, this college was able to achieve the prestigious title of being the best educational institute by the Ministry of Education in 1996 and 2002.”

Moreover, National University ranked Dhaka Commerce College as the best private college in the country consecutively in 2015, 2016, 2017and 2018, he added.
