Md Ekramuzzaman (Ekram), a 29-year-old award-winning individual, has recently started his journey with Spotify in the role of A&L Partnership, SAS (Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka).
He is the first Bangladeshi to work for the South Asian markets, and his role involves outlining core business methodologies, market analysis, strategic growth marketing, and partnership plans, according to a press release.
Ekram is based in Dubai and working from Spotify's MENA headquarter.
Being born in Jamalpur and raised in Dhaka, Ekram completed his schooling from Adamjee Cantonment School and College having his Higher Secondary Certification in the year 2011. He pursued his further education in World Maritime University, Sweden (49th BMA) in International Maritime Law and Ocean Policy. He also studied at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology but after sometime discontinued. He left Bangladesh on 2022 and joined Spotify last year.
Ekram specializes in developing artist knowledge across all languages, maintaining interpersonal relationships with them and helping them out with the various Spotify for Artists tools available to them with Spotify. He is also responsible for building market insights for the music team through data analysis and research reports, which enables the music team to engage positively with artists and labels.
Ekram said that it's an extreme pleasure to represent Bangladesh in such a global platform. He showed his interest to work with the people who want to build career as an artist. He also has a plan to work with the promotion of South Asian music content.
He aims to bring increasing exposure to Spotify in Bangladesh among music listeners, giving them a taste of an excellent streaming service, hyperlocal contents, and the best user experience. He wants to make it common among people in his country to use genuine streaming platforms instead of downloading pirated music for free. He is working towards making it easier and more convenient for artists and labels to adapt to digital streaming technologies by building market maturity and a better revenue model for them.
Ekram's achievements in the gaming industry have earned him numerous awards and accolades, including recognition from institutions such as SOS Hermann Gmeiner and Government Science College. He is an excellent leader with excellent communication skills, as evidenced by his successful tenure as a community lead for PUBG MOBILE Bangladesh.
He was a founding member of 7Sea Esports and was promoted as Head of Operations. He has deep empathy for artists in the country and with his work at Spotify, he aims to give artists the recognition they deserve and launch Spotify's global music programs like EQUAL and RADAR in Bangladesh.
