Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora has been appointed the director of the National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine (Nipsom).
She will replace Dr Baizid Khurshid Riaz, said a notification issued by the Health Services Division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday.
Meerjady Sabrina Flora, who became a household name for Covid briefings when the pandemic first hit, was promoted to the post of additional director general of the health directorate on August 13, 2020. Before that, she had served as director of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research.
