The Awami League has rented seven special trains for passenger transportation at the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's mass rally in Rajshahi.
A total of 5,900 passengers can be transported on these trains. These trains can operate at a speed of 55-60km.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's mass rally in Rajshahi is set to be held at the historic Madrasa grounds on Sunday.
The train from Sirajganj will have the highest number of seats, while the one from Chapainawabganj will transport passengers twice.
Bangladesh Railway (West) General Manager Asim Kumar Talukder said that several trains do not run on Sundays. Only the Madhumati train can be a little delayed due to the special trains, but other than that, all the trains will run on time.
Sirajganj Bazar Railway Station Officer Masud Rana said: “Professor Dr Md Habibe Millat, MP, rented a special train on Sunday to travel to Rajshahi.”
Regarding renting an entire train, Professor Dr Md Habibe Millat, MP from Sirajganj-2 said local leaders could not see Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's mass meetings for a long time. “Grassroots leader wanted to see the prime minister. I rented the special trains to fulfill their desire.”
The Awami League President, and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would visit Rajshahi, after five long years for an election campaign.
Preparations for the arrival of the prime minister have already been completed.
The Rajshahi city has been colorfully decorated to make the prime minister's rally a success.
Banner festoons with photos of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina are everywhere.
Local and national level leaders are working tirelessly to make public meetings a success.
RAB, police, all intelligence agencies and the entire law enforcement force have increased their activity across the city.
