Home minister instructs DCs to prepare for upcoming election

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Thursday directed deputy commissioners to prepare themselves for the upcoming 12th general election so that they can play their role properly.

The minister gave the instruction on the last day of the three-day DC conference at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka. 

After the meeting with the DCs, Asaduzzman Khan told reporters that the administration has many roles to play in a fair election, so instructions have been given to get ready to play their role properly in the upcoming election.

He also said that currently law enforcement agencies are very efficient and experienced, and they deal with various crises with their experience and expertise. They are also ready for a fair election, he added.

The DCs have been instructed that the administration and the law enforcement agencies should work together for fair elections, said the minister.

Meanwhile, the minister mentioned that it is very easy for Rohingyas to get involved in militancy.

He said that they lost everything and lived helplessly. Therefore DCs have been instructed to be cautious in this regard, the minister added.
