Shishir Bindu became the first trangender leader of Rajbari district unit Bangladesh Chhatra Union.
She was elected as the vice president of the Chhatra Union, said a notification issued by the president of the central parliament Md Foez Ullah and General Secretary Dipok Shil.
They expressed their enthusiasm and said that Shishir earned her leadership position on her own merits.
Bangladesh Chhatra Union has been and will continue to be vocal against all forms of gender discrimination since its inception, added the notification.
Shishir Bindhu is a student of Government Rajendra College.
The twelfth meeting of the Rajbari district unit Bangladesh Chhatra Union was held on Wednesday.
