Cold wave may abate from some places

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Thursday predicted that the ongoing mild to moderate cold wave may abate in some places in the next 24 hours commencing 9am.

"Mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions and the districts of Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalganj, Manikgonj, Jessore, Kushtia, Chuadanga, Barisal and Bhola and it may abate from some places," said a BMD bulletin.

Moderate to thick fog may occur over the river basins and adjoining area and light to moderate fog may occur elsewhere over the country from today midnight to tomorrow morning and it may continue till noon at some places, it added.

Weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.

However, night temperature may rise by 1°C-2°C and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded 29.8°C at Teknaf, while the lowest temperature on Thursday was 6.3°C at Chuadanga.

The sun will sets at 5:30pm on Thursday and rise at 6:44am on Friday in Dhaka.
