US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas has visited the Sundarbans, the world's largest mangrove forest.
The ambassador, accompanied by several officials, visited Karamjol, Kochikhali and Katka of the Sundarbans on his three-day trip.
Sundarbans Karamjal Tourism and Wildlife Breeding Centre official Howladar Azad Kabir said US Ambassador Peter Hass, four officials of the US embassy and some Bangladeshi officials went to the Katka tourist centre in the Sundarbans by launch from Khulna on Sunday.
From there they went to the nearby Kochikhali tourist centre.
They stayed there till Monday on the launch.
Departing from Katka at night, they reached Karamjal Tourism and Wildlife centre at 7am on Tuesday.
The ambassador and his entourage stayed at Karamjol Tourism and Wildlife Breeding Centre for one and a half hours.
At this time they visited various tourist places there.
