Two people have suffered severe burn injuries in an air conditioner blast in a home in Mirpur, Dhaka.
Hazera Begum, 45, suffered 50% burns and her 14-year-old house help Ariyan 70% in the blast that occurred at around 3:30am on Saturday.
They were admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
Both of them were in critical condition, said Dr Ayub Hossain, a resident physician at the institute.
Hazera Begum's husband, Abdul Salam, said the blast occurred after a short circuit.
