A 5th grader has been raped overnight by keeping her locked in his room in Gazipur sadar upazila
The incident took place in Nayapara village of Bhawal Gar union of Gazipur Sadar upazila on Friday.
In this incident, the girl's mother filed a case at Joydebpur police station, Joydebpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahtab Uddin confirmed the matter on Monday.
The accused Rakib is a worker of a private company.
The girl's mother said that Rakib locked the girl forcibly in the room and raped throughout the Friday night.
When the victim's family complained about the incident to the local UP members, they offered the victim's family money to settle the incident and tried to cover it up.
However, as they did not agree to their proposal, the rapist's family and their people put pressure on them by threatening and intimidating them in various ways.
Joydebpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahtab Uddin said that the police are conducting a drive to arrest the rapist.
