The Detective Branch (DB) of police detained Jubo Dal President Sultan Salahuddin Tuku from Savar Aminbazar area on his way back to Dhaka from the BNP rally in Rajshahi on Saturday .
Shamsuddin Didar, a member of the BNP Chairperson's press wing, informed the media about the matter at around 11:30pm on Saturday.
Jubo Dal Vice-President Nurul Islam Nayan, Jubo Dal former vice-president Javed Hasan Swadhin and Tuku's Personal Assistant Mokhlesur Rahman were also detained at that time.
BNP media wing member Shairul Kabir Khan said Tuku and Nayan were travelling in the same car when they were arrested.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed said that Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP Joint Convener and former commissioner of Lalbagh Mosharraf Hossain Khokon was also picked up by law enforcers in the evening.
